Biomycin Cream belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics, used to treat acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition which develops when hair follicles become clogged with dead skin cells and oil.
Biomycin Cream contains Clarithromycin, which inhibits the synthesis of essential nutrients required for bacterial survival. As a result, Biomycin Cream kills the acne-causing bacteria.
Some people may experience side effects like burning sensation, peeling, itching, redness and dry skin. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Do not stop using Biomycin Cream on your own. To treat your condition effectively, continue using Biomycin Cream for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Speak with your doctor if your skin does not improve after eight weeks of using Biomycin Cream or if it worsens at any point.
No, Biomycin Cream should not be used on cuts, open wounds, damaged or itchy skin.
