About Cardivas CR 10 Tablet

Cardivas CR 10 Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), moderate to severe heart failure, and angina (heart-related chest pain). Besides this, Cardivas CR 10 Tablet also reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. High blood pressure is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly and damage the heart, brain, and kidneys' blood vessels, resulting in heart failure, stroke, or kidney failure.

Cardivas CR 10 Tablet contains Carvedilol, which acts by relaxing blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances like epinephrine or adrenaline. Thus, it lowers the raised blood pressure and keeps the heartbeat slowly and with less force, reducing the risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or other heart problems.

Take Cardivas CR 10 Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, headache, weight gain, slow heartbeat, dry eyes, tiredness, dizziness, or low blood pressure. Most of these side effects of Cardivas CR 10 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Cardivas CR 10 Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Cardivas CR 10 Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Cardivas CR 10 Tablet . Avoid taking Cardivas CR 10 Tablet if you have bronchitis, asthma, emphysema (a lung condition causing shortness of breath), severe liver disease, heart block, slow heart rate, or sick sinus syndrome (abnormal heart rhythms caused by malfunction of the heart’s natural pacemaker). If you have diabetes, coronary artery disease, fluid retention, thyroid disorder, angina (chest pain), kidney disease, slow heartbeats, Raynaud’s syndrome (a circulatory problem), or pheochromocytoma (tumour in the adrenal glands), inform your doctor before taking Cardivas CR 10 Tablet .

Managing Low Blood Pressure Triggered by Medication: Expert Advice:
  • If you experience low blood pressure symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting while taking medication, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Make lifestyle modifications and adjust your medication regimen under medical guidance to manage low blood pressure.
  • As your doctor advises, regularly check your blood pressure at home. Record your readings to detect any changes and share them with your doctor.
  • Fluid intake plays a vital role in managing blood pressure by maintaining blood volume, regulating blood pressure, and supporting blood vessel function. Drinking enough fluids helps prevent dehydration, maintain electrolyte balance, and regulate fluid balance.
  • Take regular breaks to sit or lie down if you need to stand for long periods.
  • When lying down, elevate your head with extra pillows to help improve blood flow.
  • Avoid heavy exercise or strenuous activities that can worsen low blood pressure.
  • Wear compression socks as your doctor advises to enhance blood flow, reduce oedema, and control blood pressure.
  • If symptoms persist or worsen, or if you have concerns about your condition, seek medical attention for personalized guidance and care.
  • Do not stand up suddenly. Lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better.
  • Avoid alcohol and large meals.
  • Drink enough water before standing for long periods.
  • Exercise regularly; however, avoid exercising in extreme heat.
  • Eat small, low-carb meals.

Here are the step-by-step strategies to manage the side effects of "indigestion" caused by medication usage:
  • Take medications with food (if recommended): It can help prevent stomach distress and indigestion.
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals: Divide daily food intake into smaller, more frequent meals to ease digestion.
  • Avoid trigger foods: Identify and avoid foods that trigger indigestion, such as spicy, fatty, or acidic foods.
  • Stay upright after eating: Sit or stand upright for at least 1-2 hours after eating to prevent stomach acid from flowing into the oesophagus.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks: Avoid drinking carbonated beverages, such as soda or beer, which can worsen indigestion.
  • Manage stress: To alleviate indigestion, engage in stress-reducing activities like deep breathing exercises or meditation.
  • Consult a doctor if needed: If indigestion worsens or persists, consult a healthcare professional to adjust the medication regimen or explore alternative treatments.
Managing Medication-Triggered UTIs: A Comprehensive Approach:
  • Inform your doctor about the medication you're taking and the UTI symptoms you're experiencing.
  • Your doctor may adjust your medication regimen or consider alternative medications or dosages that may reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) to help flush out bacteria. Avoid sugary drinks and caffeine, which can exacerbate UTI symptoms.
  • Urinate when you feel the need rather than holding it in. This can help prevent bacterial growth and reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Consider cranberry supplements: Cranberry supplements may help prevent UTIs by preventing bacterial adhesion.
  • Monitor UTI symptoms and report any changes to your doctor.
  • If antibiotics are prescribed, take them as directed and complete the full course.
  • Staying hydrated helps prevent hematuria by increasing urine production. You should drink about eight glasses of fluid per day, and more in hot weather.
  • Avoiding smoking as it is linked to urinary tract cancers.
  • Eat berries like Cranberries, blueberries, and raspberries can help promote urinary tract health and protect against infection.
