Cepodem 100 Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Cepodem 100 Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Cepodem 100 Syrup contains 'Cefpodoxime proxetil', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Cepodem 100 Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Cepodem 100 Syrup kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.
In some cases, Cepodem 100 Syrup may cause side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), skin rash and abdominal pain.
