About Cilact-5 Tab

Cilact-5 Tab belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blockers, used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery walls becomes high.

Cilact-5 Tab contains Cilnidipine, which works by relaxing the blood vessels. This reduces the workload on the heart and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Thereby, it helps to lower high blood pressure.

In some cases, Cilact-5 Tab may cause side effects like headache, dizziness, flushing, fatigue, nausea, swelling, and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Do not take Cilact-5 Tab if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please inform the doctor if you are taking any other medications to prevent interactions. Do not discontinue Cilact-5 Tab suddenly, as it may exacerbate angina.

Uses of Cilact-5 Tab

Cilact-5 Tab is used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), prevention of heart attack and stroke. The detailed uses of Cilact-5 Tab are as follows:
• Blood Pressure Management: Cilact-5 Tab is commonly used to lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension by relaxing blood vessels and enhancing blood flow.
• Prevention of stroke and heart attack: By controlling high blood pressure, Cilnidipine helps reduce the risk of complications such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
• Combination Therapy: Cilact-5 Tab can be combined with other antihypertensive medications to develop a more effective treatment plan for patients whose blood pressure remains uncontrolled with a single drug.
• Support for Diabetic Patients: Cilact-5 Tab is particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes, as it manages hypertension effectively and provides protective benefits for kidney health.

Medicinal Benefits

  • Cilnidipine has a dual calcium channel-blocking effect that blocks both L-type and N-type calcium channels, which is beneficial in patients with stress-induced or nervous system-related high blood pressure.
  • It has minimal side effects compared to other antihypertensive drugs.
  • Cilact-5 Tab improves overall heart health and blood circulation.
