About Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml

Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml belongs to a class of medications called antipsychotics used to treat schizophrenia (a mental illness) and other psychotic disorders. Additionally, Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml may be used in the initial treatment of mania over the short term. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly.

Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml contains Zuclopenthixol which works by inhibiting the dopamine (chemical messenger) receptors in the brain. Dopamine is involved in regulating mood, behaviour and emotions. Thereby, Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml helps in controlling psychotic illness by preventing the overactivity of dopamine in the brain. Some people may experience sleepiness, akathisia (inability to sit still or remain motionless), dry mouth, hyperkinesia (involuntary movements), hypokinesia (slow or diminished movements), constipation, muscle pain, tremor, or headache. Most of these side effects of Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Zuclopenthixol or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Clopixol Depot Injection 1 ml is not recommended for children.
