About Co-SDR Capsule

Co-SDR Capsule is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps in the treatment of indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.

Co-SDR Capsule contains domperidone which is a dopamine antagonist. It works by blocking certain receptors like dopamine and serotonin which stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. It increases the upper gastrointestinal tract's motility and helps decrease stomach emptying time.

Co-SDR Capsule cause dry mouth as a side effect in your child. If this side effect worsens, please consult your paediatrician. Co-SDR Capsule should be given as advised by your doctor. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting may usually resolve within 3-4 days after taking Co-SDR Capsule . However, if it does not resolve even after this, stop giving this medicine to your child and contact the paediatrician. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of Co-SDR Capsule to the child. Co-SDR Capsule can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection.

Co-SDR Capsule is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Co-SDR Capsule to your child if she/he is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition including his current medications and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your child’s doctor about liver and kidney disease.

• Motion Sickness: Co-SDR Capsule can be used to prevent or treat motion sickness in young children during travel.

Directions for Use

  • Co-SDR Capsule should be administered 15 to 30 minutes before meals, or as directed by the doctor.

  • Inform your doctor about dry mouth symptoms. They may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep your mouth moist and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Chew sugar-free gum or candies to increase saliva production and keep your mouth moisturized.
  • Use saliva substitutes, such as mouthwashes or sprays, only if your doctor advises them to help moisturize your mouth and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Avoid consuming smoking, alcohol, spicy or acidic foods, and other irritants that may aggravate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups to keep track of your oral health and handle any dry mouth issues as they arise.

What if I have taken an overdose of Co-SDR Capsule

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Co-SDR Capsule may include difficulty in speaking, disorientation, dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, light-headedness, and loss of balance or muscle control. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.
