About Coldmine Tablet

Coldmine Tablet is primarily used to treat the common cold and allergy symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes, or an itchy/watery nose and throat. The common cold is a respiratory illness affecting the nose and throat, mostly caused by rhinovirus. The virus spreads quickly through droplets in the air when a sick person sneezes, coughs, or talks.

Coldmine Tablet contains Paracetamol, Phenylephrine hydrochloride, Chlorpheniramine maleate, and Caffeine. Paracetamol inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers in the brain known as prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine hydrochloride helps shrink the blood vessels in the nasal passage, thereby reducing the stuffy nose. Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Caffeine acts as a stimulant and increases alertness.

Coldmine Tablet can be taken with or without food or as directed by the physician. Your doctor will recommend how often you need to take Coldmine Tablet based on your medical condition. In some cases, Coldmine Tablet may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, sleepiness, nausea, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not consume Coldmine Tablet if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have hypertension (high blood pressure), liver or kidney disease, or coronary artery disease (heart disease). Coldmine Tablet may cause sleepiness, so do not drive or operate heavy machinery unless you are alert. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided as it may lead to excessive sleepiness.

• Treatment of Common Cold: It helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and watery eyes.
• Treatment of Allergies: It alleviates allergic symptoms like itching, sneezing, nasal congestion, and skin rashes by blocking the effects of histamine.

  • Take it at the same time each day, as directed by your doctor, to maintain consistent levels in the body.

Medicinal Benefits

Coldmine Tablet is composed of four medicines, namely: Paracetamol (mild analgesic and antipyretic), Phenylephrine hydrochloride (decongestant), Chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine), and Caffeine (a stimulant). Chlorpheniramine maleate works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Caffeine acts as a stimulant, which decreases sleepiness and increases alertness. Thereby, Coldmine Tablet helps treat the common cold and allergy symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes, or itchy/watery nose and throat.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Eat immune-boosting foods: To strengthen your immune system, include citrus fruits, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and leafy greens.
  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water, herbal teas, and warm soups to keep your body well-hydrated and help alleviate congestion.
  • Limit processed and sugary foods: These can weaken your immune system and increase mucus production, making it harder to fight off colds and allergies.
  • Avoid allergens: If you have allergies, avoid common triggers like pollen, dust, pet dander, and strong scents.
  • Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands regularly to prevent the spread of germs that can cause colds and allergies.
  • Use a humidifier. Moisturising the air helps ease nasal congestion, especially during colder, drier months.
  • Get enough sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night to support your body’s natural immune response.
  • Exercise regularly: Moderate physical activity boosts your immunity, but avoid overdoing it when you’re already feeling sick.
