About Dexa PC Eye Drop

Dexa PC Eye Drop is a combination medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections. It is also used to treat steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions. Bacterial eye infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade any part of the eye such as the eyeball, conjunctiva, or cornea.

Dexa PC Eye Drop contains Polymyxin B, Chloramphenicol, and Dexamethasone. Polymyxin B works by damaging the bacterial cell membrane. Chloramphenicol kills the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for survival of the bacteria. Dexamethasone blocks the chemical messengers that cause swelling, itching, and redness. Together, Dexa PC Eye Drop helps in treating bacterial eye infections.

The detailed uses of Dexa PC Eye Drop are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of bacterial eye Infections: Dexa PC Eye Drop treats bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye), blepharitis, keratitis, and other eye infections caused due to susceptible bacteria by killing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria.<br/>• Anti-Inflammatory Effect: Dexa PC Eye Drop reduces inflammation and swelling in the eyes by suppressing the immune response, thereby providing quick relief from symptoms.<br/>• Symptom Relief: Dexa PC Eye Drop provides fast relief from symptoms such as redness, itching, burning, and excessive tearing, improving overall eye comfort.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Dexa PC Eye Drop is typically used 1-2 times a day, or as prescribed by your healthcare provider, based on the severity of the condition.• Before using eye drops, wash your hands thoroughly. Then, tilt your head back, gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and drop the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye. Close your eye and gently press the corner of your eye near the nose for 1-2 minutes to prevent the drops from draining out.• Avoid touching the dropper to any surface, including your eyes, to prevent contamination.• Follow all the instructions provided by your healthcare provider, including how to properly use the eye drops and any required monitoring or precautions during treatment.

Do not use Dexa PC Eye Drop if you are allergic to any of its components or if you have epithelial herpes keratitis (infection of the cornea), vaccinia (pox virus), varicella (chicken pox), other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva, mycobacterial infections of the eye and fungal eye diseases. Dexa PC Eye Drop is for ophthalmic (eye) use only. Do not inject or swallow Dexa PC Eye Drop. Avoid touching the tip of the dispensing container as it may contaminate the contents. Inform your doctor if you have an eye injury. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let your doctor know if you are taking any prescription/non-prescription medicines or herbal supplements.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Wash your hands regularly. Avoid touching the eyes with dirty hands.
  • Avoid sharing eye makeup such as eyeliner, mascara or kohl.
  • Always use clean towels or tissues to wipe your eyes and face.
  • Regularly wash and change the pillowcases.
  • If you wear contact lenses: Clean and replace the contact lens more often. Never share contact lenses. Remember to wash your hands before inserting and after removing the contact lens.
  • Avoid staring at digital screens for longer durations. Rest your eyes every 20 minutes.
