About Dipime 1.5 Injection

Dipime 1.5 Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Dipime 1.5 Injection does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Dipime 1.5 Injection contains Cefepime and Sulbactam. Cefepime prevents the formation of the bacterial protective covering that is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam enhances the activity of Cefepime against bacteria and decreases bacterial resistance. Together, Dipime 1.5 Injection helps to treat bacterial infections.

In some cases, Dipime 1.5 Injection may cause side effects such as injection site reactions, diarrhoea and rash. These side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

The detailed uses of Dipime 1.5 Injection are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of severe bacterial infections: Dipime 1.5 Injection is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including those affecting the lungs (such as pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, abdomen (like peritonitis), and bloodstream (septicemia).<br/>• Management of hospital-acquired infections: Dipime 1.5 Injection is especially useful in treating infections acquired in healthcare settings, including ventilator-associated pneumonia and post-surgical infections, where resistant bacteria are often involved.<br/>• Treatment of gynecological and pelvic infections: Dipime 1.5 Injection is also used for infections of the female reproductive tract, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, and is sometimes used in obstetric infections.<br/>• Supportive therapy in central nervous system infections: In certain cases, Dipime 1.5 Injection may be used as part of combination therapy for meningitis, especially when caused by Gram-negative organisms.<br/>

Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, muscle shakes and spasms, confusion, hallucinations and coma.

Taking the cholera vaccine after or along with Dipime 1.5 Injection may reduce the activity of the vaccine.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dipime 1.5 Injection and Cholera, live attenuated together can evidently cause an interaction, it can be taken if your doctor has suggested it. Make sure to inform the doctor if you are on Cholera vaccine dose or you have already taken it. You should wait at least 14 days after finishing your antibiotic treatment before receiving the cholera vaccine in order to ensure an appropriate immune response. In case of any unusual side effects, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.
