About Domi Susp

Domi Susp is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps treat indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.

Domi Susp contains domperidone, which is a dopamine antagonist. It works by blocking receptors for dopamine and serotonin, which stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) in the brain. It increases the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and helps decrease gastric emptying time.

Domi Susp causes dry mouth as a side effect in your child. If this side effect worsens, please consult your paediatrician. Domi Susp should be given as advised by your doctor. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting may usually resolve within 3-4 days after taking Domi Susp. However, if it does not resolve even after this, stop giving this medicine to your child and contact the paediatrician.

Domi Susp is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Domi Susp to your child if she/he is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition, including his current medications and medical history, to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your child’s doctor of any liver or kidney disease.

What if I have taken an overdose of Domi Susp

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Domi Susp may include difficulty in speaking, disorientation, dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, light-headedness, and loss of balance or muscle control. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

  • The child’s immune system is affected by stress and raises the risk of being sick. Hence try progressive muscle relaxation techniques to relieve stress.
  • Sleeping for 7-9 hours each night can make your child stay fit and safe.

What if you forget to take Domi Susp

If you miss administering a dose to your child, give it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Domi Susp out of the sight and reach of children.• Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.
