Edta PFA 75 mg Injection belongs to the group of medicines called chelating agents used to treat hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels). It is also used to control abnormal heartbeat caused by an overdose of the drug called digitalis.

Edta PFA 75 mg Injection contains Disodium edetate, which works by binding with the excess calcium in the blood. The calcium and disodium edetate are then removed from the blood by the kidneys and excreted in the urine.

In some cases, Edta PFA 75 mg Injection may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and injection site reactions. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. Do not be reluctant to talk with your doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.

Edta PFA 75 mg Injection contains Disodium edetate, which works by binding with the excess calcium in the blood. The calcium and disodium edetate are then removed from the blood by the kidneys and excreted in the urine. This medicine may be used to remove small amounts of lead from the body if the lead is causing problems in the body.

Do not use Edta PFA 75 mg Injection if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if you have/had inadequate kidney function, active liver disease, tuberculosis, problems passing urine, high blood pressure, heart disease, heart failure, seizures or epilepsy, low levels of calcium or potassium in the blood, heart rhythm disorder, diabetes, brain tumour or head injury, or if you are using other chelating agents. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let the doctor know if you are taking any other medicines, including supplements and herbal products.
