EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION belongs to a class of drugs known as erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of haemoglobin in blood) due to chronic kidney disease and anaemia due to chemotherapy (cancer treatment). Anaemia is reduced levels of haemoglobin and red blood cells (RBCs) in the blood. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients slowly develop anaemia, which gets worse as the disease progresses. Also, the treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, causes anaemia in cancer patients.

EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION contains ‘Erythropoietin alfa, human recombinant’. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION works by stimulating the bone marrow (soft tissue within the bones that makes red blood cells) to make more red blood cells. This EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION is very similar to the natural substance in the body known as erythropoietin (hormone formed by kidneys and produced RBC), preventing anaemia (lack of haemoglobin and RBC in the blood).

EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. You may experience high blood pressure, nausea, vomiting and fever. Most of these side effects of EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION should not be taken in conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, or liver disease. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION is used in the treatment of Anemia due to chronic kidney disease, Anemia due to chemotherapy. The detailed uses of EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION are as follows:

• Anemia due to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION is used especially in patients on dialysis, where natural erythropoietin production is impaired.
• Chemotherapy-Induced Anemia: EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION helps reduce the need for blood transfusions in cancer patients.
• HIV-Related Anemia: EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION is used in patients receiving zidovudine (AZT), which suppresses bone marrow function.
• Pre-Surgical Use: EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION is administered before major surgeries (e.g., orthopedic) to reduce transfusion requirements.

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION may be administered by your doctor, or you may be told to inject the medication yourself at home. Your doctor will train you on how to use EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION at home. Check the label for directions and use it as advised by the doctor. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION should be administered subcutaneously (under the skin) in the thighs, abdomen, buttocks, or upper arm.
• Rotate the injection site each time. Do not inject into the areas where the skin is tender, red, bruised, hard, scarred or has stretch marks.

EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION  also decreases the requirement for blood cell transfusions.

If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION . EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION may affect your ability to drive and using machines as EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION may cause fits to disorder during the first 90 days of treatment. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION should not be used for children below 1 month of age during treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease. EPOTRUST 3000IU PFS INJECTION should not be used for children below 5 years of age during treatment of anemia due to chemotherapy.
