About Eylea 40mg/ml Injection

Eylea 40mg/ml Injection belongs to the group of medicines called anti-angiogenic ophthalmic agents. It is mainly used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration, and macular edema after retinal vein occlusion. It is also used to treat diabetic macular oedema, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity.

Eylea 40mg/ml Injection contains Aflibercept, which is a vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) and placental growth factor (PlGF) antagonist. It works by stopping abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the eyes that may cause vision loss in people with eye conditions.

Eylea 40mg/ml Injection will be administered by the doctor; do not self-administer. In some cases, Eylea 40mg/ml Injection may cause side effects such as eye pain, bleeding in the back of the eye, cataracts, bloodshot eyes and deterioration of eyesight. You are advised to talk to the doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.

These conditions involve fluid buildup and damage to the retina due to diabetes.<br/>• Macular Edema from Retinal Vein Occlusion: Eylea 40mg/ml Injection treats macular swelling caused by blocked retinal veins, helping reduce fluid and restore vision.<br/>• Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP): In premature infants, Eylea 40mg/ml Injection is used to treat ROP, a condition where abnormal blood vessels grow in the retina and threaten vision.<br/>

Storage

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
• Keep Eylea 40mg/ml Injection out of reach and sight of children.

What if I have taken an overdose of Eylea 40mg/ml Injection

As Eylea 40mg/ml Injection is a parenteral formulation, the chance of overdose may be less. If you think there has been an overdose or experiencing any adverse events, get medical care right away.

Drug Warnings

Do not receive Eylea 40mg/ml Injection if you are allergic to any of its components. This medicine is contraindicated in patients with any history of allergies, active or suspected infection in or around the eye, or if you have severe eye inflammation (pain or redness in the eye). Consult the doctor if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning for pregnancy.
