About Ferigard Susp
Ferigard Susp is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various tissues throughout the body.
Ferigard Susp is a combination of two drugs: Ferrous ascorbate and folic acid. Ferigard Susp works by increasing the production of red blood cells (RBCs) and haemoglobin (a protein) in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs is produced in the body so that each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.
Not everyone who is taking Ferigard Susp will get these side effects. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset or dark coloured stool. Most of these side effects of Ferigard Susp do not require medical attention and typically resolve on their own over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Take Ferigard Susp orally 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food or as directed by your doctor, typically once daily in the morning. Although there is a possible interaction between Ferigard Susp 150Ml and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
Coadministration of Ferigard Susp 150Ml and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Ferigard Susp 150Ml.
