About Fertyl-M Tablet

Fertyl-M Tablet belongs to the group of medications called 'ovulation stimulants' used to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating (producing an egg) properly or have irregular or no menstrual cycle. The problem with ovulation is a common cause of infertility in women.

Fertyl-M Tablet contains 'Clomifene Citrate' that works by stimulating the production of hormones responsible for the ovulation process.

Take Fertyl-M Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Fertyl-M Tablet are flushing (reddening of the skin, especially the face), headache, tiredness, dizziness, breast pain or tenderness, heavy periods, or bleeding between periods. Tell your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Fertyl-M Tablet if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, have liver disease, unexplained and unusual menstrual bleeding, have a type of cancer that gets worse by hormones, or have an ovarian cyst. Fertyl-M Tablet is not recommended for pregnant women, children, adolescents, men, and post-menopausal women. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding as this medicine may affect the amount of breast milk produced.

• Fertyl-M Tablet can be taken with or without food.• It is usually taken once daily for 5 days, starting on the 5th day of your menstrual period or follow your doctor's instructions for effective use.• Swallow the Fertyl-M Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not chew, crush or break it.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
• Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.
Side effects of Fertyl-M Tablet
  • Drink water or other clear fluids.
  • To prevent worsening of pain, limit intake of tea, coffee, or alcohol.
  • Include bland foods like rice, toast, crackers, and rice in your diet.
  • Avoid lying down immediately after eating as it may cause indigestion or heartburn.
  • Avoid acidic and spicy food as it may cause indigestion.
  • Use hot or cold packs on your breasts to help alleviate discomfort.
  • Choose a supportive, well-fitting bra, preferably one that has been professionally fitted.
  • Practice relaxation techniques to manage stress and anxiety that may accompany severe breast pain.
  • Limit or avoid caffeine consumption.
  • Eat a low-fat diet and focus on foods rich in complex carbohydrates.
  • Rubbing evening primrose oil on your breasts may help balance fatty acids in the cells and reduce pain.
  • Keep track of when your breast pain occurs and any other symptoms to determine if the pain is regular or not.
  • Vitamin E supplements may help reduce pain for women who experience pain linked to their menstrual cycle.
  • Over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can provide relief, but be sure to consult your doctor for the correct dosage, as prolonged use may cause side effects.

What if I have taken an overdose of Fertyl-M Tablet

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it could lead to an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach upset, vomiting, hot flashes, blurred vision, visual spots or flashes, stomach swelling, blind spots, and stomach pain. If you experience these symptoms or suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Warnings

Do not consume Fertyl-M Tablet if you are allergic or hypersensitive to Clomifene Citrate or any other ingredients of Fertyl-M Tablet . Inform your doctor if you are having an early menopause, diagnosed as infertile, menstrual periods were stopped due to being underweight, previously diagnosed with fits or seizures (fits), uterine fibroids (non-cancerous tumours in the womb), polycystic ovaries (presence of small cysts on the enlarged ovaries), swollen ovaries, or hypertriglyceridemia (increased fat levels in the body) or a family history of hypertriglyceridemia.

Although there is an interaction, Fertyl-M Tablet can be taken with Bexarotene if prescribed by the doctor. Consult the prescriber if you experience symptoms of pancreatitis such as persistent nausea, vomiting, abdominal tenderness, and upper abdominal pain, especially that which is made worse after eating or radiates to the back. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
