About Fucross-B Cream

Fucross-B Cream is a topical medication used to treat fungal skin infections that are accompanied by redness, swelling, and severe itching. It is commonly prescribed for conditions like athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and infected skin rashes. By targeting both the fungal infection and the inflammatory symptoms, it helps restore your skin to a healthy state.

For best results, you should apply Fucross-B Cream consistently and at the exact frequency recommended by your doctor, which is typically once or twice a day. Clean and thoroughly dry the affected skin area before applying the cream. To help the treatment work effectively, try to keep the affected skin clean, dry, and exposed to air as much as possible.

While using Fucross-B Cream, you might experience mild, temporary skin irritation or a burning sensation. If you develop severe skin peeling, blistering, or signs that the medication is absorbing into your bloodstream—such as extreme tiredness or unusual weight gain—stop using it and consult your doctor immediately.

Talk to your doctor before starting this medicine if you have any pre-existing health conditions, especially skin tuberculosis, viral skin infections like chickenpox or shingles, or poor blood circulation. Do not use this if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this formulation.

Inform your healthcare provider if you are using other skin ointments, as they may interact with Fucross-B Cream. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or treating an elderly family member, consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting this treatment.

Uses of Fucross-B Cream

Fucross-B Cream is commonly prescribed for fungal skin conditions that are accompanied by inflammation, itching, and irritation, such as:

  • Fungal skin infections with inflammation: Relieves redness, swelling, and intense itching while clearing the underlying fungal growth.
  • Intertrigo: Heals inflamed fungal rashes that occur in skin folds, such as under the arms, breasts, or groin.
  • Selected cases of eczema with suspected fungal involvement: In some situations, a healthcare professional may prescribe this combination when eczema-like skin lesions are complicated by a fungal infection. Such use should only occur under dermatologist supe

vision and for a limited duration, as corticosteroids may worsen certain skin conditions or mask signs of infection if used inappropriately.

Key Benefits

This combination medicine offers several benefits by addressing both the infection and the associated symptoms, including:

  • Dual-action treatment: Provides relief by targeting both the fungal infection and the inflammatory symptoms simultaneously.
  • Rapid symptom relief: Calms intense itching and burning quickly, helping you feel more comfortable throughout the day.
  • Promotes healing: Reduces swelling and redness, which supports a faster and more comfortable skin healing process.
  • Controls inflammation effectively: The beclometasone component is a moderately potent corticosteroid, which helps reduce significant inflammation associated with fungal skin infections. Because of its potency, prolonged or inappropriate use may increase the risk of skin thinning (atrophy), stretch marks (striae), pigment changes, and absorption into the bloodstream.

Directions for Use

Follow these steps carefully to ensure the medication works safely and effectively:

  • Clean the affected skin area with mild soap and water, then pat it completely dry with a clean towel.
  • Apply a thin, even layer of Fucross-B Cream to the affected area and a small portion of the surrounding skin.
  • Gently rub the cream into the skin until it is absorbed.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after application, unless you are treating an infection on your hands.
  • Do not cover the treated area with bandages, wraps, or tight clothing unless your doctor explicitly tells you to do so.
  • Always follow your doctor's exact instructions regarding how often and how long to use this cream.

How Fucross-B Cream Works

Fucross-B Cream contains two active components that work together to treat your skin. The first component is an antifungal agent that damages the protective outer membrane of fungal cells. This stops the fungi from growing and multiplying, eventually clearing the infection. The second component is beclometasone, a moderately potent corticosteroid, which blocks the release of certain natural chemicals in your body that cause inflammation. By reducing the inflammatory response, it helps relieve redness, itching, and swelling. Because moderately potent steroids can be absorbed through the skin and enter the bloodstream, especially when used for prolonged periods, over large areas, under airtight coverings like plastic wrap or waterproof bandages (occlusive dressings), or on thin skin, they should be used only as directed by your doctor. This combination helps provide symptomatic relief while the antifungal component treats the underlying infection.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Keep the Area Clean and Dry: Keep the affected area dry and clean, as fungi thrive and multiply in damp, warm environments.
  • Wear Breathable Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing made from natural, breathable fibres like cotton to minimise sweating and friction.
  • Avoid Sharing Personal Items: Do not share personal items like towels, clothing, or hairbrushes, as fungal skin infections can spread easily to others.
  • Use a Separate Towel: Use a separate, clean towel to dry the infected skin area, and wash it in hot water after every use.
  • Avoid Scratching or Picking: Avoid scratching or picking at the infected skin, as this can introduce bacteria and make the inflammation worse.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Fucross-B Cream may interact with certain medicines and topical products. Important interactions include:

  • Using other topical products on the same area: Using other topical creams, ointments, medicated skin products, or cosmetics on the same area may interfere with the absorption of Fucross-B Cream or increase skin irritation.
  • Concurrent corticosteroid use: Concurrent use of other corticosteroid-containing creams, ointments, inhalers, nasal sprays, or oral steroid medicines may increase overall corticosteroid exposure and raise the risk of steroid-related side effects.
  • Immunosuppressant medicines: Medicines that suppress the immune system may increase susceptibility to infections and may affect how your skin responds to treatment. Inform your doctor about all prescription and non-prescription medicines you are taking.
  • Extensive use or occlusive dressings: Extensive use of Fucross-B Cream over large body surface areas, under airtight coverings like plastic wrap or waterproof bandages (occlusive dressings), or for prolonged periods may increase absorption of beclometasone into the bloodstream and affect the whole body. This may contribute to hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression (a condition where the body's ability to produce its own stress hormones is reduced), especially when used alongside other corticosteroid therapies.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Certain existing skin conditions may affect whether this medicine is suitable for you. Inform your doctor about any skin disorders before starting treatment, especially:

  • Viral skin infections or tuberculosis: Do not use this medication if you have viral skin infections (such as herpes simplex or chickenpox) or skin tuberculosis, as the steroid component can worsen these conditions.
  • Skin conditions with barrier damage or thinning: Use with caution in patients with extensive skin damage, skin thinning disorders, or conditions requiring long-term corticosteroid treatment, as absorption into the bloodstream and whole-body steroid-related side effects may be more likely.

FAQs

Fucross-B Cream is used to treat fungal infections, such as ringworm of the foot (tinea pedis or athlete's foot), ringworm of the groin (tinea cruris or jock itch), and ringworm of the body (tinea corporis).

Fucross-B Cream consists of Clotrimazole and Beclometasone. Clotrimazole, an antifungal drug, stops fungi growth by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Beclometasone, a corticosteroid, works by blocking prostaglandin's production (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy.

Fucross-B Cream is safe to use with a doctor's advice and over a limited period (1-2 weeks). Let your doctor know if your symptoms are not relieved by then or if you experience any side effects.

Fucross-B Cream is for topical (for skin) use only. Do not apply it to the face. Do not put a bandage or dressing on the affected area while treating with Fucross-B Cream unless the doctor advises, since it increases the risk of side effects. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water.

Please consult your doctor before using Fucross-B Cream if you have other skin infections and adrenal gland problems, cataract or glaucoma, diabetes, and liver disease. Let your doctor know if you're allergic to Fucross-B Cream or any of its components.

Fucross-B Cream consists of Beclometasone, which can cause a rise in blood sugar levels by suppressing insulin secretion. Hence, it is advised to consult your doctor before starting Fucross-B Cream.

You are required to maintain at least a three-hour gap after application of Fucross-B Cream if you are using more than one topical medicine.

Store Fucross-B Cream in a cool and dry place away from sunlight. Keep it out of sight and reach of children.

Apply a thin layer of Fucross-B Cream to the affected regions of the skin using clean, dry hands. It can also be applied with a gauze swab or a piece of clean cotton wool. Gently rub into the skin until it has disappeared.

Do not use Fucross-B Cream higher than the recommended dose of Fucross-B Cream as it may cause unpleasant side effects. Use it only as advised by the doctor.

The side effects of Fucross-B Cream include dryness, itching, redness, burning sensation at the application site, skin thinning/discoloration, and skin peeling. Consult the doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.

You should avoid using Fucross-B Cream on your face unless your doctor specifically instructs you to do so. The skin on your face is thin and sensitive, making it more prone to side effects like skin thinning or changes in pigment from steroid use. Talk to your doctor for guidance.

Many patients start to feel relief from itching and redness within a few days of starting Fucross-B Cream. However, you should complete the full course of treatment prescribed by your doctor to ensure the fungal infection is completely cleared. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after two weeks.

Do not use Fucross-B Cream for diaper rash or on infants and young children unless specifically prescribed by a paediatrician. Children absorb topical steroids more easily through their skin, which increases the risk of side effects. Talk to your doctor about safer alternatives.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before using Fucross-B Cream. Your doctor will weigh the benefits against any potential risks to your baby before recommending this medication. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns.

If you experience severe burning, redness, or peeling after applying Fucross-B Cream, wash the area gently with water and stop using the cream. This could indicate an allergic reaction or severe sensitivity. Contact your doctor immediately for advice.

It is best to avoid applying makeup, sunscreen, or other cosmetic lotions directly over Fucross-B Cream unless advised by your healthcare provider. These products can interfere with the absorption of the cream or worsen skin irritation. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

No, Fucross-B Cream is formulated for fungal skin infections and is generally not effective for treating nail fungus, as the cream cannot penetrate the hard nail barrier. Your doctor can prescribe more appropriate oral or topical treatments for nail infections. Talk to your doctor.

No, you should not stop using Fucross-B Cream prematurely just because your symptoms have disappeared. Stopping too early can allow the remaining fungus to multiply, causing the infection to return. Always complete the duration of treatment prescribed by your doctor.
