Gaticom-P Eye Drops is used to treat bacterial eye infections or eye discomfort, especially in patients who have undergone eye surgeries. It also decreases the risk of eye infections such as conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva) and other inflammatory conditions of the eye (cornea, iris, and connective tissue) in postoperative patients. It contains Gatifloxacin and Prednisolone, which kill bacteria that cause infection and reduces inflammation and symptoms associated with infection such as redness and irritation. It may cause common side effects such as application site reactions such as redness, burning or stinging sensation, watery eyes, and blurred vision. About Gaticom-P Eye Drops

Gaticom-P Eye Drops belongs to a group of medications called ‘Antibiotics and Corticosteroids’ used to treat bacterial eye infections or eye discomfort, especially in patients who have undergone eye surgeries. It also decreases the risk of eye infections such as conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva) and other inflammatory conditions of the eye (cornea, iris, and connective tissue) in postoperative patients.

Gaticom-P Eye Drops is a combination of two medicines: Gatifloxacin and Prednisolone. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic that acts by interfering with the formation of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. Prednisolone is a steroid that reduces inflammation and symptoms associated with infection such as redness and irritation. It works by inhibiting the chemicals such as prostaglandins that cause inflammation.

Gaticom-P Eye Drops is available for external use only. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Gaticom-P Eye Drops are application site reactions such as redness, burning or stinging sensation, watery eyes, and blurred vision. These side-effects are mild and temporary. It may also cause inflammation of the cornea (clear outer layer of the eye), which is a serious side-effect and may cause vision problems. If any of these side-effects persist, consult your doctor immediately.

The detailed uses of Gaticom-P Eye Drops are as follows:<br/>• Bacterial eye infections: Gaticom-P Eye Drops helps to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), relieving symptoms like swelling, pain, redness, itching, or irritation in the eye by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria.<br/>• Eye inflammation: Gaticom-P Eye Drops is used to treat eye inflammation caused by conditions such as uveitis, eye injury, radiation, chemical burns, or certain other conditions.<br/>• Post-operative care: Gaticom-P Eye Drops may be used to prevent or treat infections and inflammation after eye surgery.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.• Tilt the head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and squeeze the prescribed number of drops. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.• Do not touch the container tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas to prevent contamination.• Gaticom-P Eye Drops is only for opthalmic use.

Drug Warnings

  • Sleep for at least six to eight hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This effect can also affect your body’s ability to fight off infections.
  • Reduce screen time (by avoiding watching tv or phone) and use sunglasses while going out into the sunlight.
