About Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml

Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml belongs to groups of medications called hypocalcemic agents, primarily used to treat high blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia). It helps your bones stay as strong as possible. It can help if you have or are at risk of getting a health problem called osteoporosis. This is where your bones get weaker and more likely to break. Osteoporosis can happen for many reasons, but you're more likely to get it if you're a woman who has been through menopause or if you take steroids, for a long time. Some types of cancer treatment can also increase your risk of getting osteoporosis. Besides this Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml can also help people who have Paget's disease of bone. This weakens your bones and can bend them out of shape.

Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml contains Calcitonin is a calcitonin receptor agonist that prevents the loss of bones that happen after menopause and helps to rebuild bones. It also used to treat Paget’s disease of bone and hypercalcemia (high calcium level in blood). Calcitonin is a hormone; involved in helping to regulate levels of calcium and phosphate in the blood, opposing the action of parathyroid hormone. Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml works by inhibiting the activity of the osteoclasts (cells that break down bone). When the osteoclasts break down bone tissue, the calcium enters the bloodstream. Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml decreases the amount of calcium in the blood by preventing the breakdown of bone. Thereby, Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml strengthens the bones and minimize the risk of fractures.

If you have osteoporosis, avoid smoking, or try to quit. Smoking can reduce bone mineral density and increases the risks of fractures.

Yes, Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml consists of Calcitonin that decreases blood calcium levels by inhibiting osteoclasts (a bone cell that breaks down bone), stimulating osteoblasts (a bone cell that builds bone), and stimulating calcium excretion by the kidneys.

Long term treatment with Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml for osteoporosis and osteoarthritis has shown an increase in the risk of cancer. Do not take Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml for longer durations unless prescribed by your doctor.

Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml contains Calcitonin is a hormone that regulates the calcium level in the blood. This hormone helps in bone formation and also helps the body to reverse bone loss. Due to this, the number of cells that damages bones becomes comparatively less, hence the bone damage is halted. Using Gemcal Nasal Spray 3.7 ml can increase bone formation by activation of the bone-forming cells.

Persons whose age is more than 45 years have low estrogen levels, female reaching menopause, too much consumption of alcohol, tobacco or caffeine, use of glucocorticoid and lack of calcium and vitamin D in the foods are some of the factors that can increase the risk of osteoporosis.
