Herzovir Infusion is an antiviral medicine used in the treatment of herpes simplex (herpes simplex virus/HSV-1 and HSV-2) infections and varicella-zoster (shingles) infections. This medicine works by killing and stopping the growth of the herpes simplex virus and thereby prevents the infection. It also preventing the reactivation of the cytomegalovirus infection in patients following bone marrow transplantation.

About Herzovir Infusion

Herzovir Infusion belongs to the class of 'antivirals' that treats herpes simplex (herpes simplex virus/HSV-1 and HSV-2) infections and varicella-zoster (shingles) infections. Herpes simplex infection, commonly known as herpes, is a viral infection that causes contagious sores, often around the mouth or genitals. Herzovir Infusion is composed of Acyclovir, which works by killing and stopping the growth of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), 2 (HSV-2), and varicella-zoster virus (VZV).

Herzovir Infusion will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Common side effects of Herzovir Infusion include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, itching, hive-like rash, sensitivity to light (photosensitivity), swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection site.
