Jolvig Oral Solution

Jolvig Oral Solution is used alone or with other medicines to treat refractory complex partial seizures in adults and children two years of age and older, and infantile spasms in children. Seizures occur when two or more AEDs (anti-epileptic drugs) have failed to control the seizures. Infantile spasms, sometimes called West syndrome, are a type of seizure that occurs in babies.

Jolvig Oral Solution contains Vigabatrin, which increases the amount of the chemical called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. Low levels of GABA cause some seizures. When Vigabatrin increases GABA, it reduces the likelihood of a seizure.

In some cases, Jolvig Oral Solution may cause side effects such as blue-yellow colour blindness, blurred vision or other vision changes, eye pain, increased seizures and loss of memory. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before taking the Jolvig Oral Solution, let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and all medications you are using. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. You should not breastfeed unless the doctor advises. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Jolvig Oral Solution for as long as your doctor has prescribed.

Jolvig Oral Solution is used in the treatment of refractory complex partial seizures and infantile spasms. The detailed uses of Jolvig Oral Solution are as follows:

• Refractory Complex Partial Seizures:Jolvig Oral Solution controls seizures, by reducing frequency and severity in adults and children aged 2 years and older.
• Infantile Spasms:Jolvig Oral Solution treats a rare and severe seizure disorder in infants, often characterised by brief, sudden muscle contractions.

• Jolvig Oral Solution can be taken with or without food, preferably with food to enhance the effectiveness.
• It is usually taken twice a day or as advised by a doctor.
• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Do not break, crush, or chew Jolvig Oral Solution.

• Jolvig Oral Solution contains Vigabatrin. Vigabatrin is an anticonvulsant.
• It increases the amount of the chemical called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. Low levels of GABA cause some seizures.
• When Vigabatrin increases GABA, it reduces the likelihood of a seizure.
• Jolvig Oral Solution is used alone or together with other medicines to treat refractory complex partial seizures in adults and children two years of age and older, and infantile spasms in children.
• It is used in patients who have already been treated with other medicines that did not work well.

• Before taking the Jolvig Oral Solution, let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and all medications you are using.
• Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of this medicine.
• Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially anaemia, eye or vision problems, depression, Mental illness and kidney disease.
• Jolvig Oral Solution should be gradually withdrawn, so please do not stop taking Jolvig Oral Solution without consulting your doctor.
• Consult your doctor immediately if you experience suicidal tendencies.
• Driving or operating machinery is not advised since Jolvig Oral Solution may cause vision problems.
• It is not recommended to consume alcoholic beverages while taking Jolvig Oral Solution.
