About KLAP TABLET

KLAP TABLET belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, intestine, respiratory tract, gonorrhoea, and genital infections of both male and female. Additionally, KLAP TABLET is also used to treat diarrhoea. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. KLAP TABLET does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

KLAP TABLET is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, KLAP TABLET helps in treating bacterial infections.

Take KLAP TABLET with or without food. The tablet form of KLAP TABLET should be swallowed as a whole with water; do not chew, break or crush the tablet. The liquid form of KLAP TABLET should be taken by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use. A healthcare professional will administer the injection form of KLAP TABLET; do not self-administer. The dose and duration of KLAP TABLET can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as KLAP TABLET contains antibiotics, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dizziness, and headache. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Before starting KLAP TABLET, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take KLAP TABLET on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor if you experience pain in tendons, swelling, and inflammation as KLAP TABLET is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Consult your doctor before taking KLAP TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking KLAP TABLET as it may cause increased dizziness. KLAP TABLET may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving. KLAP TABLET is not recommended for use in children.
