Allergic conjunctivitis, also known as eye allergy, is the immune response when the eye comes in contact with an irritating substance known as an allergen.

Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml contains three medications: methylcellulose, naphazoline and chlorpheniramine. Methylcellulose functions as a lubricant in the same way that natural tears do. It provides short relief from burning and discomfort caused by eye dryness. Naphazoline is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the eyes, lowering redness and inflammation (swelling). Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic medication that inhibits the action of particular chemical messengers that cause red, itchy, and teary eyes.

Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml is for ophthalmic (eye) use only. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to use Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. • Avoid touching the tip of the container to prevent contamination.

Do not take Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor about all the prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking especially eye medication products. If you wear contact lenses or wear them, remove them before using Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml, and you can put them back 15 minutes after using Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml. Do not take Mezol Eye Drops 10 ml if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (anti-depressant medication) in the past 14 days; it may cause serious drug interaction.
