Minoroft 5% Lotion is used to treat alopecia (hair loss). Minoroft 5% Lotion stimulates hair growth and slows down the process of balding. Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any part of the body.
Minoroft 5% Lotion contains Minoxidil, which widens the blood vessels and helps provide oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the hair follicles, thereby preventing hair cell death and promoting new hair growth.
Some common side effects of Minoroft 5% Lotion include changes in the color/texture of the hair, excessive hair growth, headache, itching, skin irritation, dryness, shortness of breath, scaling of the skin, and redness. Minoroft 5% Lotion is a vasodilator and widens the blood vessels promoting the blood flow. This process helps nourish the hair cells with the supply of oxygen and nutrients and thus stimulates hair growth.
You may notice hair shedding during the initial 2-6 weeks of treatment, which is normal. Hair loss gradually stops after two weeks of treatment. If it persists for over two weeks, stop using Minoroft 5% Lotion and consult your doctor.
Hair growth is a slow process, and it usually takes four months to see the best results of Minoroft 5% Lotion.
Minoroft 5% Lotion is for topical use only. Do not put a bandage or dressing on the affected area while treating with Minoroft 5% Lotion. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with cold water. Do not blow-dry your scalp after using Minoroft 5% Lotion. Do not apply Minoroft 5% Lotion on shaved, inflamed, infected, irritated or painful scalp skin.
Minoroft 5% Lotion is for scalp use; do not apply it on your face. If Minoroft 5% Lotion gets in contact with any other body areas, rinse with water thoroughly.
It is not required to wash your hair daily after applying Minoroft 5% Lotion. But, make sure your hair is dry before applying Minoroft 5% Lotion if you have washed your hair.
Do not use Minoroft 5% Lotion for beard growth. Minoroft 5% Lotion is recommended only for hair loss on the scalp.
Do not freeze Minoroft 5% Lotion. Please keep it away from direct sunlight. If you are using foam, keep the foam canister away from open flame or high heat since it may explode. Do not puncture or burn an empty canister.
You are advised to use Minoroft 5% Lotion for as long as your doctor has told you. Using more than advised or more often will not increase effectiveness. Please follow your doctor's instructions.
