About Moxiflox Tablet 5's

Moxiflox Tablet 5's belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolone that has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, including respiratory pathogens, gram-negative pathogens and many anaerobic bacteria (that can survive without oxygen). It is primarily taken to treat bacterial infections of the nose, sinus, throat, lungs (pneumonia), urinary tract and female upper genital tract. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

Moxiflox Tablet 5's contains Moxifloxacin that acts as a bactericidal agent that kills bacteria causing a wide range of infections. It works by stopping a bacteria's ability to copy their genetic material (DNA) which ultimately kills bacteria and stops them from reproducing. This treats your infection. Additionally, when this medicine is taken as a course, as directed by a physician, it helps in eradicating and preventing the return of infections caused due to microorganisms responsible for bacterial infections. Streptococcus pneumonia, (pneumonia-causing bacteria) resistant to previous fluoroquinolones antibiotics, are less likely to be resistant to Moxiflox Tablet 5's. It will not work for viral infections (like a common cold, flu).

Moxiflox Tablet 5's should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is advised to take it with food and should be taken at a fixed time to achieve maximum effect. In some cases, you may experience nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, etc. Most of these side effects of Moxiflox Tablet 5's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction such as rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc., please consult your doctor immediately.

It is not advisable to stop this medicine suddenly to avoid unpleasant side effects. Inform your doctor if you have any lung disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), sleeping disorder or difficulty in sleeping (sleep apnoea), severe liver disease, or problem with alcohol or other prescription recreational drugs. Inform your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, tell your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine. Moxiflox Tablet 5's can rarely lead to abnormal neurological signs (such as dizziness, vertigo, difficulty in controlling movements) if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to moxifloxacin or any similar drugs belonging to the same pharmacological class.
