About Nefroshield Tablet

Nefroshield Tablet is used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). Diabetic nephropathy is kidney damage resulting from diabetes. It is a major cause of kidney failure. 

Nefroshield Tablet contains Taurine and Acetylcysteine, which belong to the antioxidant class. This medication functions by shielding the kidneys from damage caused by dangerous substances (free radicals), hence assisting in the reduction of free radical generation that damages tissue. 

Nefroshield Tablet may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, fever, abdominal pain, and rash. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately. Take Nefroshield Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not take Nefroshield Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Nefroshield Tablet , inform your doctor if you have any history of asthma, liver or kidney diseases, or any allergic reactions. Directions for Use

Take Nefroshield Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the medicine. The dose and duration of medicine will be decided by the doctor based on your doctor.

What if I have taken an overdose of Nefroshield Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you take more Nefroshield Tablet than you should, you may experience side effects. Contact your doctor or local hospital accident and emergency department immediately. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Nefroshield Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Nefroshield Tablet , inform your doctor if you have any history of asthma, liver, or kidney diseases, or any allergic reactions. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Nefroshield Tablet . Nefroshield Tablet increases the risk of Steven-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome, characterized by severe skin rashes. So, stop taking this medication and consult your doctor immediately if you notice skin rashes. Nefroshield Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Eat at regular intervals. Do not take the long gap between a meal or snack.
  • Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
  • Replace refined carbohydrates containing whole-grain foods and increase intake of fruits and other fibre-enriched foods.
  • Monitor your blood sugar level and blood pressure regularly, especially when there are a lot of fluctuations.

However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose in the prescribed time.
