Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Commit to a regular routine; the first step toward controlling eczema is to develop a skincare routine that works for your skin and your schedule.
  • A regular shower or bath with a gentle cleanser, and a decent moisturiser twice daily, avoiding known triggers, and getting enough sleep can help keep your skin clear.
  • Track your triggers: Examine every product that touches your skin.
  • When testing a new product for the first time, dab a pea-sized amount onto the skin inside your wrist or elbow. Before continuing to use, check for any responses such as redness, irritation, or breakouts over the next day or two.
  • Consult an eczema specialist; it is important to consult with an eczema specialist because they take a more holistic approach to addressing the issue.
  • Staying hydrated is essential for everyone, but it may be especially crucial for eczema patients.
  • Limit or avoid the intake of alcohol and caffeine.
  • Do not scratch or pick at the affected region to avoid infecting it.
  • Choose natural foods and grains over processed items. Limiting starch intake may also help reduce inflammation.
  • Processed foods and foods heavy in sugar and fat should be avoided because they might induce inflammation.
  • Limit your salt intake and choose natural anti-inflammatory agents like herbs or spices like garlic, ginger, and turmeric.
