About Olpisone Tablet

Olpisone Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as centrally acting muscle relaxants, used to treat acute musculoskeletal pain (pain originating in muscles, bones, or joints). Acute musculoskeletal pain is pain perceived within an area of the body and assumed to occur from the muscles, joints, or bones in that area.

Olpisone Tablet contains  Tolperisone, a muscle relaxant. It works on the spinal cord and centres in the brain to relieve muscle contraction or stiffness without reducing strength. It increases blood supply to the muscles. This improves muscle movement and reduces pain.

You may experience certain common side effects, such as dizziness, sleepiness, diarrhoea, sweating, abdominal pain, and weakness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

  • If you have hypersensitivity and experience symptoms such as flushing, rash, wheezing, severe itching of the skin, difficulty in breathing with or without swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat, difficulty in swallowing, low blood pressure, fast heartbeat, or fast decrease in blood pressure, then stop taking Olpisone Tablet and consult a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

  • If you are a breastfeeding mother, immediately contact your doctor.
