About Optihist AZ Eye Drop

Optihist AZ Eye Drop belongs to the class of medicines called antihistamines (antiallergics) used to reduce eye inflammation. It is used to prevent and treat eye disorders caused by seasonal and perennial allergic conjunctivitis. Eye inflammation is a common condition in which eyes become swollen and red. 

Optihist AZ Eye Drop contains Azelastine, an antiallergic drug that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Thus, it relieves symptoms of allergies and reduces eye inflammation.

Optihist AZ Eye Drop is only for ophthalmic use (eyes). You are advised to use Optihist AZ Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. Directions for Use

• Optihist AZ Eye Drop is typically used 1-2 times a day, or as prescribed by your healthcare provider, based on the severity of the condition.• Tilt your head back, gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.• Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.

What if I have taken an overdose of Optihist AZ Eye Drop

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Using more medication will not improve your symptoms; instead, they may cause serious side effects or poisoning. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Seek emergency medical attention or call your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms or if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.

  • It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. 
  • Use only scent-free detergents and soaps.
  • Install an air purifier at home.
  • Regularly vacuum and dust.
  • Limit the carpets, curtains, soft toys and soft furnishings at home.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and keep your surroundings clean.
