Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml is a combination medicine used to treat bacterial and fungal infections of the ear. An ear infection occurs when the bacteria or fungi affect the middle or outer ear, leading to pain and inflammation. Infection of the middle ear (air-filled space behind the eardrum) is known as otitis media. In contrast, the inflammation of the external/outer ear canal that runs from the eardrum to the outside of the head is known as otitis externa.

Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml is a combination of four drugs, namely: Beclometasone (corticosteroid), Clotrimazole (antifungal), Lidocaine (local anesthetic), and Neomycin (antibiotic). Beclometasone belongs to steroids that work by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Thereby, reduces the redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections. Clotrimazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that decreases pain sensation by preventing pain signals from nerves to the brain. Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it destroys bacteria.  

Use Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml is only for use in ears. You are advised to use Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. After applying Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml, you are advised to keep your head tilted for about 5 minutes to enter the lower ear canal.

Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml may be used to treat otitis externa (redness and swelling of the outer ear canal). Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml kills microorganisms and reduces swelling and redness caused due to infection.

Otobiotic Plain Ear Drops 5 ml may cause temporary irritation in the ear immediately after application. However, if the irritation persists or worsens, please consult your doctor.
