About Pedicalm Syrup

Pedicalm Syrup is used in the short-term treatment of insomnia. Insomnia is a sleep disorder that causes difficulty falling or staying asleep. It may be acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) due to various complications like stress, anxiety, and breathing problems.

Pedicalm Syrup belongs to a class of drugs called sedative-hypnotics. It primarily works by increasing GABA activity, a chemical messenger in the brain acting as a natural nerve-calming agent, thereby inducing sleep. Thus, Pedicalm Syrup relaxes muscles, reduces anxiety, and helps fall asleep.

Give Pedicalm Syrup as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to give Pedicalm Syrup to your child as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. Some children may experience dizziness, diarrhoea, drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, nose or throat infections, tiredness, stomach pain, and skin rashes. Most of these side effects of Pedicalm Syrup do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If your child is known to be allergic to Pedicalm Syrup or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you notice that the effect of Pedicalm Syrup is not as good as at the beginning of the treatment, please consult a doctor as your child might have developed tolerance to Pedicalm Syrup and dose adjustment may be required. If your child has any pre-existing medical conditions, please inform your doctor before giving Pedicalm Syrup.
