Podocef 100 DT Tablet is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. It contains Cefpodoxime, which kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of bacterial infections. In some cases, it may cause side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), skin rash and abdominal pain. About Podocef 100 DT Tablet

Podocef 100 DT Tablet belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Podocef 100 DT Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Podocef 100 DT Tablet contains 'Cefpodoxime', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Podocef 100 DT Tablet works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Podocef 100 DT Tablet kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

In some cases, Podocef 100 DT Tablet may cause side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), skin rash and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

What if I have taken an overdose of Podocef 100 DT Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Podocef 100 DT Tablet as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.
