Drug Warnings
Do not take Portwin Injection 1 ml if you are allergic to any of its components; if you have significant respiratory depression, acute or severe bronchial asthma in the absence of resuscitative equipment or in an unmonitored setting, gastrointestinal obstruction, including paralytic ileus. Inform your doctor if you have/had liver or kidney problems, adrenal insufficiency, severe hypotension, seizures, myocardial infarction, or biliary surgery. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Concomitant use of opioids with benzodiazepines, and other central nervous system agents, including alcohol, might result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death. Portwin Injection 1 ml may cause serious respiratory depression; hence monitoring is advised.

Therefore, monitoring is recommended due to the risk of respiratory depression.
