About Ranieyes 10 mg Injection

Ranieyes 10 mg Injection belongs to the group of medicines called anti-neovascularisation agents used to treat eye diseases causing vision impairment, such as neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration, macular oedema following retinal vein occlusion, diabetic macular oedema, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, and choroidal neovascularization. It is also used to treat retinopathy of prematurity in babies born prematurely.

Ranieyes 10 mg Injection contains Ranibizumab, a vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) antagonist. It binds to VEGF-A (a protein that causes abnormal blood vessel growth and swelling, leading to vision impairment) present in the eyes, blocks its action, and prevents abnormal growth and swelling. It helps stabilise and improve vision.

In some cases, Ranieyes 10 mg Injection may cause side effects such as eye pain, inflammation, retinal bleeding, dry eye, eye irritation, and redness or itching of the eye. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.

Also used in premature babies to treat retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The detailed uses of Ranieyes 10 mg Injection are as follows:<br/>• Treat wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD): Ranieyes 10 mg Injection inhibits abnormal blood vessel growth under the retina, helping preserve central vision and slow disease progression.<br/>• Manage diabetic macular edema (DME): Ranieyes 10 mg Injection reduces retinal swelling caused by fluid leakage in diabetic patients, improving visual acuity.<br/>• Treat macular edema due to retinal vein occlusion (RVO): Ranieyes 10 mg Injection helps restore vision by reducing fluid buildup in the retina following vein blockage.<br/>• Support therapy for diabetic retinopathy: Ranieyes 10 mg Injection improves retinal health and prevents further damage in patients with advanced diabetic eye disease.<br/>• Treat myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV): Ranieyes 10 mg Injection is used to manage vision loss in patients with severe nearsightedness due to abnormal blood vessel growth.<br/>

Side effects of Ranieyes 10 mg Injection
  • Increase vitamin C intake with citrus fruits, berries, kiwi, bell peppers, broccoli, and tomatoes.
  • Focus on vitamin K-rich foods like leafy greens, broccoli, and brussels sprouts.
  • Boost antioxidant intake with beta-carotene, lutein, and vitamin E from carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, corn, nuts, seeds, and avocados.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  • Limit excessive sodium by reducing processed foods, salty snacks, and added salt.
  • Eat omega-3 fatty acids from fatty fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts.
  • Avoid straining or heavy lifting to minimize physical strain.
  • Be mindful of eye strain and take breaks during screen time or reading.
  • Get adequate sleep with 7-9 hours each night and elevate your head to reduce swelling.

What if I have taken an overdose of Ranieyes 10 mg Injection
