RCINEX R CIN + INH 450MG CAPSULE is used to treat tuberculosis in children. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs but can also spread to other body parts such as the kidneys, brain, spine, and bone marrow.
 
RCINEX R CIN + INH 450MG CAPSULE contains Rifampicin, and Isoniazid. Rifampicin inhibits DNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity in the bacteria. Rifampicin and Isoniazid work synergistically to kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis by disrupting bacterial protein synthesis and cell wall formation, helping reduce symptoms like persistent cough, fever, and weight loss.<br/>• Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI): RCINEX R CIN + INH 450MG CAPSULE is used in children who have been exposed to TB but do not yet show symptoms. It helps prevent the progression from latent to active TB, especially in high-risk groups such as those with weakened immune systems.<br/>• Tuberculous Meningitis and Disseminated TB: RCINEX R CIN + INH 450MG CAPSULE may be part of a broader regimen to treat severe forms of TB, such as TB meningitis or miliary TB, due to its ability to penetrate the central nervous system and systemic circulation effectively.<br/>• Preventive Therapy in High-Risk Pediatric Contacts: RCINEX R CIN + INH 450MG CAPSULE is used as a prophylactic treatment for children who have been in close contact with TB-positive individuals, aiming to stop the infection before it becomes active.<br/>

Consult a doctor if your child gets flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever, or muscle ache. Inform the doctor if your child has HIV infection, epilepsy, psychiatric disorder, diabetes, porphyria, phenylketonuria (metabolic disorder), peripheral neuropathy (tingling sensation in hands and feet), kidney or liver problems, if your child is allergic to ethionamide or niacin (nicotinic acid), or if your child is taking cortisone or any cortisone-like drug.
