Rebagen Otic Capsule is a combination medicine used in the treatment of presbycusis (age-related hearing loss). Presbycusis is a common condition that impacts many older adults above 65 years of age. It occurs gradually over time and may be caused due to various changes in the inner ear.
Rebagen Otic Capsule is a combination of Acetylcysteine, Alpha lipoic acid and Rebamipide. Acetylcysteine and Alpha lipoic acid are antioxidants that work by increasing substances which detoxify the body, reduce the inflammatory response and protect cells. Rebamipide is a mucoprotective agent which protects the mucosa and helps in healing.

Rebagen Otic Capsule may cause constipation as a common side effect. You are recommended to eat more fibre foods and drink plenty of water to avoid such side effects. However, if the condition persists or worsens, please consult a doctor.
Rebagen Otic Capsule does not cure age-related hearing loss. It prevents or reduces ear damage by removing toxic substances and preventing cell damage. There is no cure for age-related hearing loss.
To delay or prevent hearing loss, avoid repetitive exposure to loud sounds and wear ear protection in places where there are loud sounds. If you have diabetes, control your blood sugar. Visit an audiologist (ear specialist) regularly for hearing tests and early detection of any issues. Eat foods high in certain vitamins and minerals.
The early indications of hearing loss include often asking people to repeat themselves, turn up the volume of the radio or television, have difficulty following conversations in noisy places, have difficulty in understanding group conversations, having a ringing sensation in the ear (tinnitus), having problem in hearing sounds like doorbell, alarm or a telephone ringing, tend to speak loudly. If you experience any of these symptoms please consult your doctor.
Rebagen Otic Capsule can interact with several other medications such as antibiotics (erythromycin and rifampicin), medicines used to treat chest pain (nitro-glycerine), antimalarial drug (chloroquine), drugs used to treat high blood pressure (captopril, lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril, valsartan, losartan, diltiazem, verapamil), blood thinners (warfarin, heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel, enoxaparin), pain relievers (ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac), medicines used to treat gout (probenecid), antidiabetic drugs (insulin), thyroid medicine (levothyroxine), and anticancer drug (gemcitabine). Therefore, please inform your doctor if you are taking other medicines before starting Rebagen Otic Capsule .
