Robust-10 Tab is used in the treatment of high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. It contains Rosuvastatin, which slows down cholesterol production in the body and decreases the amount of cholesterol that may build up on the arteries walls and block blood flow to brain, heart and other body parts. Thus, it lowers cholesterol and fats levels and helps to prevent stroke, heart disease and heart attack. It may cause side effects such as myalgia (muscle pain), asthenia (lack of energy), nausea, headache, abdominal pain, muscle pain, weakness, and daytime drowsiness. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Robust-10 Tab

Robust-10 Tab belongs to the class of medicines known as statins, which reduces bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein-LDL) and glyceride level, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in the future. High cholesterol, known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood. When there is a high cholesterol level in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged, finally contributing to heart diseases like stroke and heart attack.

Robust-10 Tab works by blocking liver enzymes, causing the liver to make less cholesterol. Robust-10 Tab increases the uptake and breakdown by the liver of cholesterol already in the blood. Thus, Robust-10 Tab lowers the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (like a low-fat diet) on their own have failed. Robust-10 Tab reduces the ‘bad’ cholesterol and increases the ‘good’ cholesterol by blocking our body’s production of ‘bad’ cholesterol. It also improves your body’s ability to remove it from your blood.

The possible side effects of Robust-10 Tab may include myalgia (muscle pain), asthenia (lack of energy), nausea, headache, abdominal pain, muscle pain, weakness, and daytime drowsiness. Most of these side effects of Robust-10 Tab do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. It is important to have your lipid profile checked regularly.

This medicine is only one part of a treatment program that should include a healthy low-fat diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can normally eat while taking this medicine, but avoid high-fat foods. Before starting the dose of Robust-10 Tab , tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, severe lung disease, or have musculoskeletal disorders (like myopathy and rhabdomyolysis). You should avoid taking Robust-10 Tab with immune system affecting medicine (cyclosporine) or anti-HIV medicines (lopinavir, ritonavir, or atazanavir) as it might have a serious effect.

Uses of Robust-10 Tab

Robust-10 Tab is used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), prevention of heart attack, and prevention of stroke. The detailed uses of Robust-10 Tab are as follows:
• Cholesterol Management: Robust-10 Tab is primarily used to lower LDL cholesterol (commonly known as 'bad' cholesterol) and triglycerides in the blood, reducing the risk of heart disease.
• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: By lowering cholesterol levels, Robust-10 Tab significantly decreases the chances of heart attacks and strokes in individuals with cardiovascular conditions or risk factors.
• Familial Hypercholesterolemia Treatment: Robust-10 Tab is prescribed to manage lipid levels in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic disorder leading to very high cholesterol levels.
• Improving HDL Cholesterol: Robust-10 Tab also boosts HDL cholesterol ('good' cholesterol), promoting better heart health.
• Preventing Atherosclerosis: By maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, Robust-10 Tab helps prevent plaque build-up in arteries, supporting overall vascular health and circulation.

Directions for Use

Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it. For patients who have trouble swallowing, open the capsule and sprinkle the contents over a small amount (tablespoon) of soft food (curd, honey, tomato ketchup, vanilla and chocolate flavour pudding) and consume it.

Medicinal Benefits

Robust-10 Tab lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease and coronary events like heart attack, stroke, and heart-related chest pain (angina). Robust-10 Tab is beneficial in patients who are at high risk of these events. It is also prescribed in children (aged eight years or more) suffering from familial hypercholesterolemia (a genetic disease resulting in high cholesterol) along with lipid-lowering pills and other dietary measures. Robust-10 Tab plays a vital role in slowing atherosclerosis progress (blocked artery walls of the heart due to fat/lipid deposition leading to heart attack and stroke) in adult patients.

How Robust-10 Tab Works

Robust-10 Tab contains Rosuvastatin. It works by blocking liver enzymes, causing the liver to produce less cholesterol. Robust-10 Tab also increases the liver's uptake and breakdown of cholesterol already in the blood. Thus, Robust-10 Tab lowers the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (like a low-fat diet) have failed. Robust-10 Tab reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol by blocking our body's production of bad cholesterol. It also improves the body's ability to remove it from the blood.
