Roxy-150 Tablet belongs to the group of antibiotic medicines called macrolides. Roxy-150 Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is used to treat respiratory tract, gastrointestinal, skin and soft tissue infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.
Roxy-150 Tablet works by interfering with the protein synthesis of the bacteria, which is necessary for their survival. Thus, it helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections. Roxy-150 Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Take Roxy-150 Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, headache, dizziness, stomach upset, diarrhoea, rash and stomach ache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take antacid medicines along with Roxy-150 Tablet ; maintain a gap of 2 hours between both. Avoid taking Roxy-150 Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. The detailed uses of Roxy-150 Tablet are as follows:<br/> • Treatment of Bacterial Infections: Roxy-150 Tablet is commonly prescribed for managing bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis.<br/> • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Roxy-150 Tablet effectively treats skin conditions like cellulitis and other soft tissue infections caused by bacteria that respond to this medication.<br/> • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Roxy-150 Tablet is widely used in the treatment of STIs such as Chlamydia and gonorrhea, due to its efficacy against the bacteria responsible for these diseases.<br/> • Ear Infections (Otitis Media): Roxy-150 Tablet is also employed in the treatment of otitis media, a middle ear infection often seen in children, to alleviate symptoms and combat the infection.<br/>
Directions for Use
• Take Roxy-150 Tablet on an empty stomach or 15 minutes before food or three hours after a meal, or as advised by your doctor. • It is advised to take Roxy-150 Tablet once daily; however, follow your doctor’s recommendation regarding the dosage and duration. • Swallow Roxy-150 Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. • Do not crush, chew or break it.

Do not take Roxy-150 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you are taking ergot alkaloids (used to treat migraine), terfenadine or astemizole (used to treat allergy), cisapride (used to treat acidity), or pimozide (used to treat psychosis). Do not take Roxy-150 Tablet on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Talk to your doctor before taking Roxy-150 Tablet if you have heart, kidney or liver problems, hypokalaemia (low potassium levels), diarrhoea, or if you weigh below 60kgs. Do not take antacids medicines along with Roxy-150 Tablet ; maintain a gap of 2hours between both. Roxy-150 Tablet may reduce the effectiveness of contraceptives, consult your doctor before taking Roxy-150 Tablet if you are using contraceptives.
