Salkon Kid Suspension

Salkon Kid Suspension is used in the treatment of productive cough (cough associated with mucus) in children. Coughing (dry or productive) is the body's way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus or smoke) from airways, thereby preventing respiratory infection. There are two types of coughs, namely, Dry cough and Chesty/Wet/Productive cough. A dry cough means it's tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty/wet cough means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear the airways.

Salkon Kid Suspension is a combination of two drugs, namely Terbutaline (bronchodilator) and Bromhexine (mucolytic agent or cough thinner). Terbutaline sulphate relaxes muscles and widens the airways. Thereby it makes breathing easier. Bromhexine hydrochloride works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe and nose. Thereby, it helps to cough out easily.

Use Salkon Kid Suspension as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend how often your child needs to take Salkon Kid Suspension based on his/her medical condition. In some cases, Salkon Kid Suspension may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, tremor, nervousness or rapid heartbeat. Most of these side effects of Salkon Kid Suspension do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not use Salkon Kid Suspension if your child is allergic to any of the ingredients in Salkon Kid Suspension. If your child is suffering from any medical condition or is under any specific medication, please inform your doctor before using this medicine. Do not give more than the recommended dose to your child, as it may cause an overdose and increase the risk of side effects.

Salkon Kid Suspension is used in the treatment of productive/wet cough. The detailed uses of Salkon Kid Suspension are as follows:

• Relieve bronchospasm in respiratory conditions:Salkon Kid Suspension relaxes the airway muscles, helping to widen the bronchial passages and ease breathing in conditions like asthma and bronchitis.
• Thin and loosen mucus in the lungs:Salkon Kid Suspension contains a mucolytic agent that breaks down thick mucus, making it easier to cough out and clear the airways.
• Improve airflow and reduce coughing episodes:Salkon Kid Suspension enhances respiratory function by clearing mucus and reducing airway constriction, which helps alleviate persistent coughing.

• Salkon Kid Suspension can be taken with or without food as advised by the doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, or use it as per the labelled instructions.
• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Give the prescribed dose to your child by mouth using the measuring cup provided with the pack.
• Avoid using regular household spoons, as they may not measure the dose correctly.
