About Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR

Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR is used to treat ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Ulcerative colitis is a type of chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation of the large intestine lining (colon). It produces ulcers on the colon's lining, which may cause bleeding and discharge of pus and mucus.

Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR contains Mesalazine, which works by inhibiting the production of certain chemical substances, such as prostaglandins, that cause pain and swelling.

In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, vomiting or flatulence (gas). Most of these side effects of Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Take Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR as prescribed. You are advised to use Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR for as long as your doctor recommends it, based on your medical condition. It should be taken one hour before food or 2 hours after food. Do not take more than the recommended dose of medicine.

• Ulcerative Colitis Treatment: Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR helps reduce inflammation in the colon and prevent flare-ups and used for mild to moderate cases of ulcerative colitis.<br/>
• Crohn’s Disease Management: Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR is prescribed to control symptoms in Crohn’s disease.

Directions for Use

• Take Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR with or without food as advised by your doctor. • It is advised to take Salofalk GR 500mg Tablet PR once daily; however, follow your doctor's recommendation regarding the dosage and duration. • Check the label for directions and use as advised by the doctor. Empty the contents directly on the tongue and drink some water or orange juice. They can also be mixed with yoghurt and should be taken immediately without chewing. • Do not touch the granules with wet hands. Do not chew them.
