Silodozen-D Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adults with an enlarged prostate gland. It helps to relieve symptoms such as difficulty urinating or urge to urinate more often and improve your ability to urinate. It contains Silodosin and Dutasteride, which relaxes smooth muscles in the bladder and prostate and shrink of the size of the prostate gland. It reduces the BPH symptoms and improves your ability to urinate. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as dizziness, headache, nasal congestion (stuffy nose), and diarrhoea. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Silodozen-D Tablet

Silodozen-D Tablet is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adults. The prostate is a small, muscular gland in the male reproductive system. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common condition that occurs when the cells of the prostate gland begin to multiply.

Silodozen-D Tablet is a combination of Silodosin and Dutasteride. This medicine works by blocking the action of alpha-1 receptors, causing smooth muscle relaxation in the bladder and prostate. Dutasteride blocks the action of a 5-alpha reductase enzyme, resulting in a shrinkage of the size of the prostate gland.

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as dizziness, headache, nasal congestion (stuffy nose), and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Take Silodozen-D Tablet as advised. Your physician will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. You can take Silodozen-D Tablet with or without food. It is advised not to take more than the recommended dose of Silodozen-D Tablet . Do not chew, crush, or break the medicine. It is crucial to have your lipid profile checked regularly.

Inform your physician if you are allergic to Silodozen-D Tablet . Avoid consumption of alcohol as it may increase the side effects like dizziness and low blood pressure. If you take Silodozen-D Tablet with any antihypertensive medicine, your blood pressure could suddenly drop to a life-threatening level.   • Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Silodozen-D Tablet helps reduce prostate size by blocking the production of hormones responsible for its growth and also improves urinary flow and reduces symptoms like difficulty urinating, frequent urges, and weak urine stream.
  • Relaxation of Bladder and Prostate Muscles: Silodozen-D Tablet works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, making urination easier and helping relieve urinary discomfort associated with an enlarged prostate.
  • Prevention of Urinary Blockage: Silodozen-D Tablet reduces the risk of complete urinary obstruction, which can occur if BPH is left untreated and helps maintain normal urinary function over time.

Directions for Use

  • Silodozen-D Tablet can be taken with or without food, as advised by your doctor.
  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.

What if I have taken an overdose of Silodozen-D Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Silodozen-D Tablet as it may cause overdose. Symptoms of overdose include dizziness, drowsiness, fainting, or severe decrease in blood pressure. If you suspect you have taken overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

  • Do not take Silodozen-D Tablet if you are allergic to Silodozen-D Tablet or any other components present in it. To treat your condition effectively, continue taking Silodozen-D Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Try not to stop taking it on your own.
  • If you take Silodozen-D Tablet with any antihypertensive medicine, your blood pressure could suddenly drop to a life-threatening level. So, avoid intake of Silodozen-D Tablet with antihypertensive drugs.
  • Inform your doctor if you have/had a heart attack or stroke or heart failure, low blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, have certain eye diseases, loss of vision due to loss of blood flow to the optic (eye) nerve before taking Silodozen-D Tablet .
  • You are advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Silodozen-D Tablet as it may cause dizziness.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol along with Silodozen-D Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness.
  • Older patients may be more sensitive to the side effects of Silodozen-D Tablet , especially dizziness and low blood pressure when getting up from a sitting or lying position. 
  • Silodozen-D Tablet is intended for male patients only. Therefore, it should not be administered to women and children under 18 years of age.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Maintaining a healthy weight, eating a balanced diet, and regular exercising may help your bladder empty at a normal rate.
  • Avoid consumption of alcohol to treat your condition effectively as consuming an excessive amount of alcohol may make you pee more and can irritate your bladder.
  • Limit the amount of fluids and caffeine you drink, especially before you go out or go to bed.
  • Stay warm, cold can make it feel more urgent to pee.
  • Avoid usage of tobacco.
  • Do daily exercise to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
