Slvrgen Cream is used to treat first and second-degree burns. It is also indicated in other skin ulcers such as incisions, abrasions, minor cuts and wounds. It contains Recombinant human epidermal growth factor, Chlorhexidine gluconate and silver sulfadiazine. The recombinant human epidermal growth factor activates by binding with EGF receptors on keratinocytes and fibroblasts. It results in cell proliferation, inhibition of cell death, formation of new blood vessels, and collagen synthesis. Chlorhexidine gluconate has antiseptic & antibacterial properties. It is powerful and non-toxic. It binds to bacterial cell walls and inhibits bacterial growth. Silver sulfadiazine has effective anti-microbial activity and inhibits bacterial synthesis by acting on bacterial cell walls/membranes. Thus, this medication helps treat burns. It ensures faster wound healing and also protects the cells from silver toxicity.
