About Smuth Cream
Smuth Cream is used in the treatment of haemorrhoids (piles). It helps in relieving itching, pain, swelling and discomfort caused by piles and other problems in the anal area. Haemorrhoids are also known as piles, a medical condition that occurs when veins present in the anus and rectum area (the last part of the large intestine that ends up in the anus) swell and become painful.
Smuth Cream contains calcium dobesilate (vasoprotective agent), hydrocortisone (steroid), lignocaine (local anaesthetic) and zinc (astringent). Calcium dobesilate acts on the walls of small blood vessels and reduces their delicacy and leakage. Also, it improves blood flow by reducing the thickness of blood and helps in relieving redness and swelling in piles. Hydrocortisone inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling caused by piles. Lignocaine decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain. Zinc acts as an astringent (shrinks pores and absorbs excess oils) and antiseptic.
Smuth Cream is for external use only. Use Smuth Cream as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Smuth Cream for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience itching, redness or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Smuth Cream do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Smuth Cream or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before taking Smuth Cream. Please do not cover the treated area with any bandages unless advised by your doctor, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects. Avoid using Smuth Cream in large amounts or for a longer time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects. Do not swallow Smuth Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, please consult a doctor immediately.
