About Soddy-DS Tablet

Soddy-DS Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called alkalinising agents used to correct the acid-alkaline balance in the body. Soddy-DS Tablet is used to treat acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, and stomach upset. Soddy-DS Tablet may also be prescribed to make the blood or urine less acidic in certain conditions.

Soddy-DS Tablet contains ‘Sodium bicarbonate’, which helps neutralise the stomach's acidic pH. Thereby, Soddy-DS Tablet helps to provide relief from acidity.

You are advised to take Soddy-DS Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as dry mouth, urinating more than usual, and increased thirst. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, kidney, liver or heart disease, if you have recently had bleeding in the stomach or intestine or if you are on a low-salt diet. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding. Soddy-DS Tablet should not be given to children unless prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol, as it could elevate the production of stomach acid.

Uses of Soddy-DS Tablet

Soddy-DS Tablet is used in treating Heartburn, indigestion, stomach upset, and sour stomach.

Directions for Use

• Soddy-DS Tablet can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor but avoid taking it on an overly full stomach.• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.• Swallow Soddy-DS Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not chew, crush or break it.

What if I have taken an overdose of Soddy-DS Tablet

Take Soddy-DS Tablet only as prescribed by the physician. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it could lead to an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include muscle spasms and seizures. If you experience these symptoms or suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

How does the drug interact with Soddy-DS Tablet:
Co-administration of Soddy-DS Tablet and Dolutegravir reduces the levels of Dolutegravir, resulting in reduced effectiveness.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dolutegravir and Soddy-DS Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience symptoms like fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle aches, red or inflamed skin, and pain or burning during urination, contact your doctor immediately. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting your doctor.

  • Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
  • Avoid lying down after eating as it causes acid reflux.
  • Avoid tight-fitting clothes as it might increase the pressure on the abdomen, leading to acid reflux.
  • Practise relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
  • Avoid foods such as high-fat, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea, and soda.

Soddy-DS Tablet is an antacid that helps neutralize stomach acid during indigestion and heartburn. Soddy-DS Tablet may also be prescribed to make the blood or urine less acidic in certain conditions.

Soddy-DS Tablet has alkaline pH, which helps in neutralising the acidic pH in the stomach. Thereby, Soddy-DS Tablet helps to provide relief from acidity and heartburn.

Do not take Soddy-DS Tablet for longer than two weeks unless prescribed by the doctor. If there is no symptomatic improvement despite using Soddy-DS Tablet for 1-2 weeks, consult your doctor.

Soddy-DS Tablet can be taken with other medicines if prescribed by the doctor. However, you are advised to maintain a gap of 2 hours between Soddy-DS Tablet and other medicines.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Soddy-DS Tablet . Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking, drinking water regularly and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent drying of the mouth.

If you have kidney problems, please consult your doctor before taking Soddy-DS Tablet as it may possibly affect kidney function.

Soddy-DS Tablet may cause side effects such as increased thirst, stomach cramps, gas, dry mouth and urinating more than usual. If these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Store Soddy-DS Tablet at room temperature. Protect from light. Keep it out of reach of children.

Soddy-DS Tablet overdose may lead to hyperventilation (over breathing), twitching, very sensitive to light stimuli and high potassium levels in the blood which may cause dizziness or tiredness. Therefore, if you suspect you have taken overdose of Soddy-DS Tablet , please seek medical help immediately.

Pregnant women are recommended to consult their doctor before using Soddy-DS Tablet or any antacid, as it may worsen high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Soddy-DS Tablet should be used for as long as it is advised by your doctor. However, do not use Soddy-DS Tablet for more than 2 weeks without consulting a doctor. If acid problems persist or worsen after 2 weeks of self-treatment, seek medical help.
