Sporizox-S Injection is used to treat various bacterial infections in the body. It contains Ceftizoxime and Sulbactam. Sporizox-S Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics. It is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections in the body. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection.

Sporizox-S Injection contains Ceftizoxime (third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic) and Sulbactam (beta-lactamase inhibitor). It works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. This causes damage to the bacterial cell wall and eventually leads to the death of the bacterial cell. Sulbactam works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Ceftizoxime against the bacteria. Together, Sporizox-S Injection helps treat bacterial infections.

Sporizox-S Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Sporizox-S Injection may cause injection site reactions, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, rash, stomach upset, and indigestion. Most of these side effects of Sporizox-S Injection do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

What if I have taken an overdose of Sporizox-S Injection

As Sporizox-S Injection is a parenteral formulation, the chance of overdose may be less. In case of overdose, patients must be closely monitored for signs or symptoms of adverse reactions and appropriate symptomatic treatment instituted. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Sporizox-S Injection may include seizure (convulsions).

Although taking Sporizox-S Injection 1.5 gm and Cholera, live attenuated together can evidently cause an interaction, it can be taken if your doctor has suggested it. To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive cholera vaccine, live until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy. Sporizox-S Injection contains Ceftizoxime and Sulbactam. Ceftizoxime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby killing the bacteria. Sulbactam works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Ceftizoxime against the bacteria. Thus, Sporizox-S Injection helps to treat bacterial infections.

Sporizox-S Injection may cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD). Antibiotic treatment alters the normal flora, leading to overgrowth of Clostridium difficile, which causes diarrhoea. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in your stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking Sporizox-S Injection and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.

Inform your doctor if you do not feel better even after finishing the full course of treatment. If the symptoms worsen while using this medicine, consult your doctor.

Usually, Sporizox-S Injection starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take a few days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.

To reduce the development of antibiotic resistance and maintain the effectiveness of Sporizox-S Injection , it should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are proven or highly suspected to be caused by bacteria.
