Tamkart Tablet is an alpha-blocker medication used primarily to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate, and urinary bladder outlet obstruction. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate gland and urinary bladder neck, helping to improve urine flow and relieve symptoms like difficulty passing urine and frequent urination. BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate caused by excess production of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Tamkart Tablet contains Tamsulosin hydrochloride, a prodrug that is converted into its active form in the intestine. It specifically targets the smooth muscles in the prostate gland, which makes it easier for men to pass urine. By relaxing these muscles, Tamkart Tablet effectively reduces the symptoms of BPH and helps improve urinary function.
Common side effects of Tamkart Tablet include low blood pressure (hypotension), dizziness, drowsiness, reduced libido, impotence, breast tenderness or enlargement (in men), insomnia, runny nose, and ejaculatory issues. These side effects often improve with continued use, but if they persist or worsen, it is important to contact your doctor.
Tamkart Tablet is not suitable for women or children. Before starting the medication, inform your doctor if you have any history of low blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, or heart problems. It’s also important to use a condom during sexual intercourse while taking Tamkart Tablet , especially if your partner is pregnant, as the medication can be passed through semen.
