About Tamodex 10 Tablet
Tamodex 10 Tablet belongs to the class of 'anti-neoplastic agents', primarily used to treat breast cancer. It is also used to treat infertility caused by a failure in the ovulation (produce and release) process in women. Breast cancer is a type of cancer in the breast cells stimulated by a female sex hormone called oestrogen.
Tamodex 10 Tablet contains Tamoxifen, which belongs to the class of 'anti oestrogens. Some types of breast cancers need oestrogen (female sex hormone) to grow. Tamodex 10 Tablet blocks the effects of this oestrogen, thus helping in treating breast cancer. Tamodex 10 Tablet is also used to reduce the risk of occurrence of breast cancer in women due to age and personal and family medical history.
Use Tamodex 10 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the dosage depending on your medical condition. The common side effects of Tamodex 10 Tablet include hot flashes, headache, muscle aches, leg cramps, tiredness, nausea, thinning of hair and numbness or tingling sensation. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.
Do not take or stop this medicine if the doctor did not advise you to do so. Before starting Tamodex 10 Tablet , let your doctor know if you have any medical history of liver or kidney diseases, heart diseases, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, history of stroke or blood clot, receiving chemotherapy, and cataracts. It is not recommended to consume alcohol along with Tamodex 10 Tablet . Tamodex 10 Tablet is not recommended for children below two years of age.

Before starting Tamodex 10 Tablet , let your doctor know if you have any medical history of liver or kidney diseases, heart diseases, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, history of stroke or blood clot, receiving chemotherapy, and cataracts. Tamodex 10 Tablet can affect the unborn baby when used in pregnancy. It may also have harmful effects on the breastfed infant when used by a lactating mother. Hence, Tamodex 10 Tablet is not indicated for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding women. If you are using Tamodex 10 Tablet , make sure to use reliable contraception forms to prevent pregnancy during the course. Tamodex 10 Tablet can make you feel tired and affects your mental ability to drive. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are not mentally alert and focused. Diet & Lifestyle Advise
Maintain a fibre-rich diet and include healthy carbohydrates from fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Include fish, soy, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, kale, broccoli and oils containing omega-3 fatty acids such as olive oil as these foods may reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
Avoid grilled meat, red meat, saturated fat found in animal products, milk and dairy products.

Tamodex 10 Tablet should be used with caution and under doctor's supervision only if you have any medical history of liver or kidney diseases, heart diseases, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, history of stroke or blood clot, receiving chemotherapy, and cataracts. Let your doctor know if you have any other medical concerns before using Tamodex 10 Tablet .
During treatment with Tamodex 10 Tablet , it is essential to look for any signs of a stroke (slurred speech, sudden weakness or numbness, severe headache), signs of a blood clot in the lung (chest pain, sudden coughing, wheezing, rapid breathing, coughing up blood), and signs of a blood clot in one or both legs (pain, swelling, warmth, redness). If you further notice any symptoms that are not manageable or unusual, please seek prompt medical advice.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.
Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food at regular intervals, as prescribed by the doctor. Do not crush, chew or break it. The dose of Tamodex 10 Tablet will be suggested by your doctor based on your condition.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. If you are unsure about what to do, consult your pharmacist for guidance.
Do not stop taking Tamodex 10 Tablet as it may increase the risk or progression of the cancer. It is advised to complete the course prescribed by your doctor. However, if you face any difficulty while taking Tamodex 10 Tablet consult your doctor immediately.
