Mometasone effectively treats the inflammation and itchiness associated with eczema and psoriasis. It has common side effects, including skin peeling, itching, irritation, dryness, redness, and a burning sensation at the application site. Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Tyza M Gel

Tyza M Gel is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat fungal skin infections. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, tinea versicolor (which causes light or dark patches on the skin), and inflammatory skin disorders, including eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis (characterized by itchy, dry, or inflamed skin). Eczema is characterised by red, itchy, and cracked patches, while psoriasis involves the rapid buildup of skin cells, forming thick, scaly plaques. Fungal infections occur when fungi invade the skin, leading to symptoms such as redness, itching, and scaling.

Tyza M Gel contains two active ingredients: Mometasone (a corticosteroid) and Terbinafine (an antifungal). Mometasone works by blocking the release of inflammatory substances, such as prostaglandins, which helps reduce swelling, redness, and itching associated with eczema and psoriasis. Terbinafine combats fungal infections by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, ultimately causing the fungal cells to die. This dual action makes Tyza M Gel effective for both inflammatory and fungal skin conditions.

Common side effects of Tyza M Gel include skin irritation, redness, dryness, peeling, itching, or a burning sensation at the application site. These effects are usually mild and temporary. However, inform your doctor if you experience more serious side effects such as rash, headache, swelling, skin thinning, nausea, or vomiting. Always use the medication as prescribed and for the duration recommended by your doctor to minimize risks.

Tyza M Gel is meant for topical use only. Avoid using it on sensitive areas such as the eyes, lips, nostrils, ears, or genitals unless directed by a doctor. Do not cover the treated area with bandages or dressings unless advised. Inform your doctor about any allergies to its ingredients or if you are taking other medications or supplements. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using Tyza M Gel, as corticosteroids may pose risks with prolonged use. Tyza M Gel is not approved for use in children below 12 years of age unless specifically prescribed.

Uses of Tyza M Gel

Tyza M Gel is used in the treatment of fungal and inflammatory skin conditions. The detailed uses of Tyza M Gel are as follows:
• Treats fungal skin infections: Tyza M Gel is effective in treating fungal infections, including ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, and tinea versicolor.
• Manages eczema and psoriasis: Tyza M Gel helps relieve symptoms like itching, redness, and scaling in chronic skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
• Controls dermatitis: Tyza M Gel reduces inflammation and discomfort associated with different forms of dermatitis.

  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
  • Apply a thin layer of Tyza M Gel to the affected areas of the skin using clean, dry hands or a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab, and gently rub the medicine into the skin until it is fully absorbed.
  • For external use only.

Medicinal Benefits

Tyza M Gel is used to treat fungal skin infections, such as eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, dermatitis, and tinea versicolor. Tyza M Gel is composed of Mometasone (corticosteroid) and Terbinafine (antifungal). Mometasone is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers), which causes the affected area to become red, swollen, and itchy. It effectively treats inflammation and itchiness caused by eczema and psoriasis. Terbinafine is an antifungal drug that treats fungal infections by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane (a compound present in the fungi to maintain cell integrity) and thus resulting in fungal cell death.

How Tyza M Gel Works

Tyza M Gel is composed of two medicines: Mometasone (corticosteroid) and Terbinafine (antifungal). Mometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that cause the affected area to become red, swollen, and itchy. Mometasone effectively treats the inflammation and itchiness associated with eczema and psoriasis. On the other hand, Terbinafine is an antifungal medication that treats fungal infections, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane (a compound present in fungi to maintain cell integrity), resulting in fungal cell death.

Storage

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

What if I have taken an overdose of Tyza M Gel

Do not apply Tyza M Gel in large amounts or use it for a longer time than recommended, as it does not yield quick or better results, but instead increases the risk of side effects.

Drug Warnings

Avoid contact of Tyza M Gel with nose, mouth, or eyes as it may irritate. If Tyza M Gel comes into contact with these areas accidentally, rinse thoroughly with water. Mometasone may also increase the risk of infection in patients exposed to viral illnesses, such as chickenpox or measles. Topical use of corticosteroids may occasionally cause systemic immunosuppression (a decreased ability to fight infections), which can further exacerbate the disease; therefore, corticosteroids should be used with caution in patients with active infections. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Tyza M Gel. Tyza M Gel is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.

FAQs

Tyza M Gel is used to treat fungal skin infections. It is used to treat various skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, dermatitis (itchy, dry skin or rash), and tinea versicolor (lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, and arms, or legs).

Tyza M Gel consists of Mometasone and Terbinafine. Mometasone, a corticosteroid, works by blocking the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers), which causes the affected area to become red, swollen, and itchy. Terbinafine is an antifungal medication that interferes with the growth of fungi, leading to the death of fungal cells.

Tyza M Gel is for topical (for skin) use only. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the affected area while treating with Tyza M Gel unless instructed to do so by a doctor. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water. Do not apply Tyza M Gel on open wounds, lesions and blisters.

Please consult your doctor before using Tyza M Gel if you have other viral skin infections, diaper rash, diabetes, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, Cushing's disease (high cortisol levels), cataract and glaucoma, heart, liver, and kidney diseases. Let your doctor know if you are allergic to Tyza M Gel or any of its components.

Tyza M Gel consists of corticosteroids (Mometasone) that can cause a rise in blood sugar levels by suppressing insulin secretion. Hence, it is advised to consult your doctor before starting Tyza M Gel.

Tyza M Gel is not recommended for diaper rash, since it contains a corticosteroid, Mometasone furoate. Your baby's paediatrician may suggest other medications for the treatment of diaper rash.

Tyza M Gel, when used for more extended periods, can cause thinning and weakening of the skin. Please stop using Tyza M Gel and immediately consult your doctor if you notice these symptoms.

You should not stop using Tyza M Gel just because your symptoms have improved. Stopping early can cause the infection or inflammation to come back, so always follow your doctor’s instructions.
