Vabysmo 6 mg (0.05 ml of 120mg/ml Solution) Injection 1's belongs to the class of anti-angiogenic ophthalmic agents, used to improve and maintain vision in diabetic macular edema (DME), neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), or macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO) in adults. Neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), diabetic macular edema (DMO), and retinal vein occlusion (RVO) are chronic eye conditions characterized by the growth of abnormal blood vessels beneath the retina and macula, leading to fluid accumulation, swelling, and vision impairment.

Vabysmo 6 mg (0.05 ml of 120mg/ml Solution) Injection 1's contains Faricimab, which works by blocking the activity of proteins known as angiopoietin-2 and vascular endothelial growth factor A. Excessive levels of these proteins can cause abnormal blood vessel growth, damaging normal vessels and leading to retinal leakage, swelling, and vision problems in conditions like nAMD, DMO, and RVO. By attaching to these proteins, Vabysmo 6 mg (0.05 ml of 120mg/ml Solution) Injection 1's blocks their actions and prevents abnormal vessel growth, leakage, and swelling. The common side effects of Vabysmo 6 mg (0.05 ml of 120mg/ml Solution) Injection 1's include conjunctival hemorrhage (blood in the white part of the eye), intraocular pressure, eye pain, intraocular inflammation or irritation, blurred vision and increased lacrimation.
