About Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's

Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's is a combination drug of Vildagliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor), and Metformin (Biguanides) belongs to the class of anti-diabetic. Type 2 diabetes mellitus used to be known as 'non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM)' or 'maturity-onset diabetes'. Type 2 diabetes develops if the body does not produce enough insulin, or where the insulin that your body makes does not work as well as it should. It can also develop if the body produces too much glucagon. Insulin is a substance which helps to lower the level of sugar in your blood, especially after meals. Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's is another substance which triggers the production of sugar by the liver, causing the blood sugar to rise. The pancreas makes both of these substances.

Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's helps to control the blood sugar level. It works by making the pancreas produce insulin and less glucagon (effect of vildagliptin) and also by helping the body to make better use of the insulin it produces (effect of metformin). You must continue to follow the diet and exercise recommended for you whilst you are on treatment with Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's. Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's is not a substitute for insulin. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes (where your body does not produce insulin at all), or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's should be taken with food to avoid an upset stomach. Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's should be taken at the same time of the day each time for best results. For better advice, your doctor will decide, what dose should be taken and it can change timely depending upon your condition. The most common side effect of Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's is hypoglycemia (low blood glucose levels) characterised by dizziness, sweating, palpitations, hunger pangs, dry mouth and skin etc. So, to avoid hypoglycemia, you should not miss meals and also should carry some form of sugar along with you. Other side effects include taste change, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, upper respiratory symptoms.

Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's should not be stopped even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor as sugar level keeps changing. If you stop taking Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's abruptly, it may increase your sugar levels which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss (retinopathy), kidney (nephropathy) and nerve damage (neuropathy). Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe kidney or liver disease. Please inform your doctor if you have any heart disease, is or planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

Type 2 diabetes is a common form of diabetes in which the blood sugar-lowering hormone called insulin produced by the body does not function properly. Due to this, the blood glucose level increases, and symptoms such as frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger start. Diabetes, if left untreated or not treated properly, can cause long-term complications such as nerve damage, kidney damage, eye damage, foot problems, and also poses a high risk of developing heart diseases.

Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's help to control the level of sugar in the blood. The substance vildagliptin works by making the pancreas produce more insulin and less glucagon. The substance metformin works by helping the body to make better use of insulin. This medicine has been shown to reduce blood sugar, which may help to prevent complications from your diabetes.

Continue taking your medicine for as long as your doctor tells you to. Your doctor will check your progress to make sure the medicine is working and will discuss with you how long your treatment should continue. Do not stop taking Valdiff-M 500 Tablet 15's unless your doctor tells you to.
