About Vomistop Tablet

Vomistop Tablet is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps in the treatment of indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.

Vomistop Tablet contains domperidone which is a dopamine antagonist. It works by blocking certain receptors like dopamine and serotonin which stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. It increases the upper gastrointestinal tract's motility and helps decrease stomach emptying time.

Vomistop Tablet cause dry mouth as a side effect in your child. If this side effect worsens, please consult your paediatrician. Vomistop Tablet should be given as advised by your doctor. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting may usually resolve within 3-4 days after taking Vomistop Tablet . However, if it does not resolve even after this, stop giving this medicine to your child and contact the paediatrician. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of Vomistop Tablet to the child. Vomistop Tablet can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection.
